7 Tips to Enjoy your Softub During the Summer

Summertime is a great time to be outdoors!  Cookouts, bonfires, family gatherings, and other leisurely activities are taken outside during the warm months.  Did you know that you can also enjoy your Softub during the summer, too!  Here’s how to beat the heat during the warmest time of the year.

Most people tend to ignore their hot tub during these months. Yes, it may sound ironic to use a hot tub during the summer, but people love to entertain or even relax. All you have to do is  reduce the temperature setting to 85F or less. Softubs are energy efficient, and cooling the tub down wouldn’t be much of a hassle, thanks to the Hydromate System.  Another tip to making the Softub cooling process more affordable is to run the tub with the spa cover open and air jets on. This allows the water to cool down enough to enjoy it on a hot day! Also unlike a pool, hot tubs are insulated so once you’ve initially cooled off your Softub, the insulation will take care of the rest.

Also, keep these tips in mind to avoid heat-related illnesses.

1)  Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water before and after soaking. Though it may sound fun to some, avoid alcohol until afterwards..  Alcohol dehydrates the body, and is a depressant on your system.

                                                      2)  Cool down before you heat up. Wait until you stop sweating, and your                                                                pulse returns to normal after exercising before getting into the hot tub.

                                                      3)  Take care when getting in and out. Enter and exit the tub slowly. Ease in                                                            gradually. Exit carefully. A sudden change in posture and temperature                                                              can cause lightheadedness.

                                                      4)  Watch the water temperature. The maximum recommended safe                                                                         temperature for a hot tub is 104 degrees. Soaking time at this                 temperature should not exceed 15 minutes. For summer, try 100 degrees or cooler in order to feel

refreshed, not enervated in the heat as noted above.

5)  Check with your doctor. Ask your doctor about hot weather hot

tubbing if you’re taking medication or have a health condition that

may be affected by extreme heat. Better to be safe than sorry!

6)  Save your skin & hair. Wear sunscreen or a broad brimmed hat if

you’re soaking in the direct sun. Some enjoy their tub under a

covered patio, or a 10 X 10 canopy, they are fairly priced!!

7) A cool compress on your forehead is bliss. Fold a small towel

that’s been dipped in cold water and place it on your forehead, and

relax. It’s so refreshing!

BONUS TIP!!!

Last, but not least,  have fun, relax, enjoy yourself and beat heat!!
